The really popular Mashable.com noting there was a lack of an official social media day, declared June 30th, 2011 to be the Official Social Media Day. On June 30th, 2011 about 10,306 people in 93 countries will participate in Social Media Day celebrations.
In addition, organizers of more formal Social Media Day events across the USA are identifying social media influencers and organizing speaking events with these influencers for their audiences.
On June 30th, 2011 at the invitation of the organizers of the “Mashable Inspired, Fun Advanced Facebook Development Event” myself (Uduak Oduok) in behalf of Uduak Law Firm will speak as part of Mashable’s June 30th Social Media Day.
The event takes place at the W Hotel (Westwood) in Los Angeles but I will be appearing virtually.

There are many invited speakers and press ranging from some of the top fashion and entertainment brands you all know to top bloggers in the social media space. The goal is to discuss and assess how companies can make a profit from social media. The event encompasses both case study presentations and speaker roundups.
