Strategic Legal Session - $750
A 60-minute session focused on one primary issue. Documents you provide in advance are read to inform the analysis. You leave with a clear view of your position, the risks and leverage that matter, your options, and the next steps worth prioritizing.
Suited to a single contract, a defined ownership or IP question, or an early-stage decision.
Deal & Dispute Review - $2,500
A structured review of your deal or dispute file, delivered as a written analysis of findings, material risks, leverage points, and recommended next steps, followed by a working session to discuss the analysis and your options.
Suited to a deal being structured or negotiated, a cross-border or Afrobeats industry transaction, a multi-agreement ownership question, or an emerging dispute.
The Strategic Legal Session fee is paid at booking. The Deal & Dispute Review fee is paid before the review begins.
When a Consultation Makes Sense
Clients book when a decision, a deal, or a dispute carries real consequences:
- A deal is being structured or negotiated. A contract, licensing arrangement, partnership, brand deal, or production agreement where the terms will shape revenue, ownership, and control.
- A contract has arrived and the terms don't look right. Or the terms look fine and you want to know what you're not seeing.
- Ownership needs to be established. Who owns the work, the masters, the brand, the business, and what the agreements actually say.
- Intellectual property needs protecting or enforcing. Trademark and copyright strategy, licensing, brand protection, and AI-related questions around content, likeness, and voice.
- A business relationship is being formed, restructured, or unwound. Partnerships, collaborations, teams, and the exposure that comes with each.
- A cross-border deal needs structuring, including U.S.-Africa and Afrobeats industry matters.
- A dispute has emerged or is likely. A claim against you, a claim you may need to bring, or a relationship heading that direction.
- A significant decision is pending and the legal and business consequences aren't yet clear.
If your situation isn't listed but carries comparable stakes, the consultation is likely appropriate.
What Both Formats Cover
Both formats address one primary issue and the related matters necessary to evaluate your position. In both formats, we will:
- Assess the material legal, intellectual property, and business risks.
- Identify leverage points and potential consequences.
- Clarify strategic options and relevant tradeoffs.
- Review pertinent facts, documents, communications, or digital evidence as necessary to evaluate your primary issue.
- Determine the appropriate next steps, including whether further legal representation is warranted.
Scope
Both formats are focused on legal analysis, strategy, and direction.
The Strategic Legal Session does not include contract drafting or revision, markups or redlines, clause-by-clause review, written legal opinions, trademark or copyright application preparation, negotiations or communications with another party, or ongoing representation. Documents you provide in advance are read to inform the analysis of your primary issue.
The Deal & Dispute Review includes the written analysis described above. It does not include contract drafting or revision, markups or redlines, trademark or copyright application preparation, negotiations or communications with another party, or ongoing representation.
Fees are separate from any subsequent legal engagement and are not credited toward future fees.
Additional legal services, when appropriate, are handled under a separate engagement agreement. If you already know you need legal work rather than strategic guidance, you can request legal services directly.
After You Book or Request
Strategic Legal Session. You will receive a consultation agreement after booking, which must be signed before the session can proceed.
Deal & Dispute Review. After you submit your request, I will confirm scope and delivery timing before the fee is charged. You will receive an engagement agreement, which must be signed before the review begins. The working session is scheduled after the written analysis is delivered.
All bookings and requests are subject to a conflicts check.
