On the heels of a controversial MTV show on Abortion ‘No Easy Decision’ which aired yesterday on the TV network, Wall Street Journal reports on the rise of Anti-Abortion regulations; fueled by the United States Supreme Court recognizing that the “government has a legitimate and substantial interest in preserving and promoting fetal life.”
“Most state abortion bans begin at 22 or 24 weeks, which typically is considered the earliest a fetus can survive outside the womb. But the Nebraska law is built on scientific studies indicating that 20 weeks is the point at which a fetus may begin to experience pain . . .” ~WSJ has the full story.
In the meantime, watch a clip of MTV’s Abortion Show. “Dr. Drew delves into the issue of abortion, with a special episode that tells the story of one teenage couple’s difficult choice.”
